 Larry Flam Joins Marcus Hotels & Resorts
as Director of Restaurant Operations

MILWAUKEE, Wis., September 14, 2006�Marcus Hotels and Resorts, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE: MCS), today announced that Larry Flam had joined the company as director of restaurant operations.  In the new position, he will be responsible for restaurant concepts, menus, standards and restaurant operations consulting and support.

�A well concepted restaurant operation is an integral part of a successful property�s personality, and it must appeal to both guests and locals said Bill Otto, president of Marcus Hotels and Resorts.  �Larry has more than 20 years restaurant experience with some of the nation�s leading restauranteurs.  We have created a number of award-winning restaurants at our hotels, and we look forward to his creative input to take us to the next level.�

Flam will begin with a �full plate� of assignments, including concepting new restaurants at the Pfister and Wyndham hotels in Milwaukee, the under-restoration Skirvin Hilton in Oklahoma City, The Platinum in Las Vegas, and the Westin Hotel in Columbus, Ohio.  He also will review the concepts and menus as well as implement enhanced operating efficiencies at the company�s 12 other managed hotels.

He began his career as a waiter in college, moving into management with Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises. He played a significant role in the growth of Rain Forest Café, where he was regional vice president of operations during the company�s expansion from two to 37 restaurants.  He was director of Midwest restaurant operations for the Kimpton Group where he played a major role in the conception and launch of the Atwood Café and Encore, two highly successful hotel restaurants.  Most recently he was director of operations for The N9ne Group, where he helped develop a new, upscale steakhouse concept.  

Flam holds a B.A. degree in history from the University of Illinois.  He is a member of the Riverside (Ill.) recreation board, and a board member of REEF, an educational foundation.  He is a member of Riverside�s advisory board that is overseeing the planning of the city�s new high school.
