|Harrisburg, PA – September 20, 2006 - The Holiday Inn Harrisburg East
will be receiving the Intercontinental Hotels Group prestigious 2006 Renovation
Award at the Annual Americas Investors and Leadership Conference in Toronto
Lea Ann Kish, Chief Operating Officer of Milestone Hospitality Management which operates the hotel said that, “We are very honored to be the recipient of this prominent award. Our renovation focused on achieving a residential look in our guest rooms with consideration to current lifestyle trends. The exterior of the building looks smart as it follows the modern elements of the new Holiday Inn prototype design.”
The property underwent a $7.5 million dollar comprehensive renovation which contemporized the hotel’s exterior and modernized all interior finishes and fixtures in the public spaces as well as the 274 oversized guest rooms. The renovation included the addition of 12 two-room suites which overlook the beautifully landscaped courtyard and outdoor pool. Additionally the meeting/conference space has expanded to 30,000 square feet which can accommodate up to 900 people theater style, 1,500 for a reception, or 750 for a banquet. A state-of-the-art amphitheater was added – the only one of its kind in central Pennsylvania – which is equipped with High Speed Internet access at each seat, LCD projection with drop down screen, and surround sound.
