July 27, 2006 - Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Castle & Cooke, LLC have announced a $50-million enhancement and rebranding for The Lodge at Koele, sister property of Four Seasons Resort Lana'i at Manele Bay. The project represents over $100 million invested by Castle & Cooke and its chairman David Murdock, in the two exclusive properties as part of their rebranding by Four Seasons. The renovation, which will commence in late August 2006 is scheduled to be completed by mid-November 2006. Upon completion, the property will become Four Seasons Resort Lana'i, The Lodge at Koele.

"The Lodge has always had a great base of loyal guests, and with the upcoming enhancement and rebranding, our guests will have even more to enjoy," said Mark Hellrung, general manager of Four Seasons Resorts Lana'i. "The upcountry charm will remain, with a new level of comfort and service added by Four Seasons," added Hellrung.

The enhancement will include renovation of all 102 guest rooms and suites (including signature Four Seasons beds, 42" LCD flat-screen televisions, furniture, fabrics, carpeting, glass bath partitions, high-speed Internet access, coffee makers, air conditioning and heating.) Additional enhancements will be made in the Lodge's public areas, including the Great Hall, which will be refreshed with new furniture and fabrics, maintaining the charming upcountry feel of The Lodge. A Games Room will be added, and a Pagoda imported from China will be constructed on the Resort's sprawling grounds. Additional enhancements will include new exterior paint, as well as new furniture and fabrics in the restaurants and bar.

Following the completion of enhancements and the rebranding of the property, construction will begin on a destination spa and wellness center, in a spectacular garden setting. The Spa and Wellness Center are anticipated to open in 2008.

The Lodge at Koele was originally opened in 1991, and quickly became a favorite of travelers seeking a "private Hawaii" experience. The cool upcountry setting and meticulous sprawling gardens are warmly complemented by the natural colors, interiors and fireplaces of the Great Hall. With the enhancements and rebranding, Four Seasons Resort Lana'i, The Lodge at Koele is expected to become a favorite of those seeking "Hawaii the way it should be."

Four Seasons Resort Lana'i at Manele Bay is the sister property of Four Seasons Resort Lana'i, The Lodge at Koele. The beachfront property just completed a $50+-million enhancement, and boasts beautiful vistas of the Island's coastline from many of its 215 guest rooms and 21 suites. Castle & Cooke Adding $10 million in Meeting Space
to the Four Seasons Resort Lana`i at Manele Bay

Four Seasons Resort Lana`i at Manele Bay, the newest addition to the esteemed collection of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Hawaii, announces the groundbreaking on a 10,188 square-foot Pavilion, intended for incentive, corporate and social events.

The Pavilion, which will be named Hale Halawai (meaning meeting house), broke ground this week, and is expected to be completed in September 2007.  When complete, Hale Halawai will offer 10,188 square feet of state-of-the-art function space (7,308 indoor and 2,880 of outdoor terrace space.)

Built at a cost of $10-million, Hale Halawai will be the premiere facility of its type in Hawaii. Perched on a hill and part of the Resorts Conference Center, the facility will offer air conditioning, wireless Internet access and moveable floor-to-ceiling glass panels to allow groups to have an open-air or enclosed function setting.  Surrounded by colorful bougainvillea, Hale Halawai will offer spectacular panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the islands of Maui and Kahoolawe.  Able to accommodate a full buyout of the Resort, Hale Halawai is designed to comfortably seat 500 guests for dinner, and 600 for a reception.

The addition of the Pavilion truly complements the Resort, allowing us to offer our groups some of the most attractive and functional indoor/outdoor event space available in Hawaii, said Mark Hellrung, general manager of Four Seasons Resorts Lana`i.  From boardroom meetings to gala dinners to lavish parties, this space will provide another exceptional venue and option for our group guests, added Hellrung.

Developed by Castle & Cooke, LLC and now managed by Four Seasons, Four Seasons Resort Lana`i at Manele Bay recently completed a $50+-million enhancement, and offers a truly private Hawaii experience.  For travelers yearning for the secluded pleasures and authentic beauty of Hawaii, the Resort is the perfect option to escape from it all.  The beachfront property boasts beautiful vistas of the Islands coastline from many of its 215 guest rooms and 21 suites.

Architecturally, the property reflects Hawaiis diverse cultural origins; a theme further enhanced by five indigenous gardens, complete with pristine streams, ponds and waterfalls.  The Resort sits above the white sand beach of Hulopoe Bay, overlooking the nearby islands of Maui and Kahoolawe.  Brilliant red lava cliffs and rock formations provide a dramatic contrast to the blue waters of the sea below.
