The former Renaissance Bedford Hotel will undergo a $12 million makeover

Montvale, NJ (July 26, 2006) Dolce International, the global hospitality company specializing in the meetings experience for its customers, announced today that it will take over management of the 284-room Bedford Glen Hotel, just outside of Boston. Dolce will also oversee a $12 million makeover to the former Renaissance Hotel, while adding the companys other successful ingredients for improving the overall guest and meeting experience, including cutting edge technology, creative and professional meeting planners and the Dolce Difference level of training. This marks Dolce's first property in Boston and the 22nd for the companys portfolio.

Andy Dolce, chairman and managing partner of Dolce International, stated, The Bedford property offered the right hotel in the right destination, in the heart of the Northeast's high tech, tourism and commercial region. This particular hotel was already a leader in leisure and meeting satisfaction, and we are pleased that all its current clients have agreed to maintain their accounts under the new Dolce management. We look forward to infusing the Dolce brand of learning and hospitality into this already successful hotel.

Dolce retained more than half the hotels current managers, including Director of Sales and Marketing Kevin Giannino, and 100 percent of the hotels other employees.  Dolce named Michael McNeill as general manager, previously general manager at the Dolce Heritage in Southbury, Connecticut.

During the next 12 months, the Bedford Glen Hotel will undergo an extensive renovation and restyling to its exterior and interior, including its guest rooms, meeting rooms, public spaces, fitness room, pool area, restaurant and bar.  Once completed, spacious guest rooms will boast elegant furnishings and luxurious soft goods, with contemporary bathrooms, all overlooking gardens.  The newly expanded fitness center will feature the most current equipment, sound system and LCD televisions.  A dining room exclusive to meeting groups will be added. Guests can also expect complimentary wireless internet access in the lobby areas, restaurant and lounge and high-speed internet access in all meeting rooms.  The hotel will remain open during the redo.  It is Dolce's intent to work with the local community to gain approval on plans to expand the property's meeting space an additional 25,000 square feet, which would allow Bedford Glen to attract and accommodate larger meeting groups.

Set amidst 24 acres of countryside, in a historic area on the outskirts of Boston, the Bedford Glen Hotel serves as a charming leisure or meeting destination.  Facilities include 13,000 square feet of meeting space including three ballrooms and 22 meeting and breakout rooms; outdoor courtyards, and amenities such as a full business center and high-speed Internet access.  The hotel is also home to the highly acclaimed restaurant Bistro 44 and a Starbucks Internet cafe.  Bistro 44, the hotels popular New England-style restaurant and bar, will continue to operate, offering the same savory menu and high-end service previously enjoyed by hotel guests and locals alike.
Recreational activities include fitness center, indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, tennis courts, hiking trails, bowling, as well as championship golf courses nearby.  The hotel is just 30 minutes from downtown Boston, 45 minutes from Logan international Airport and short distance from the region's high tech corridor. Address is 44 Middlesex Turnpike, Bedford, MA 01730.
