VERNON, N.J., Aug. 15, 2006 - Mountain Creek resort officially opened The Appalachian, a condominium hotel, located slopeside at the resort in Vernon, New Jersey. A Grand Opening event welcomed The Appalachian's first phase homeowners to their new mountain resort homes, with the official ribbon cutting opening the building conducted by New Jersey's Governor Jon Corzine and Intrawest's Executive Vice President, Lorne Bassel.

"The Appalachian is a fantastic resort hotel that we are proud to open to both homeowners and the Vernon, New Jersey community. It is the result of a multi-million dollar investment here that is a step towards bringing a world class resort to Mountain Creek," said Jeff Patterson, Director of Planning at Mountain Creek.

The Appalachian is now open to lodging guests, with significant reservations already being taken for summer/fall 2006. The resort offers numerous package programs which include lodging and outdoor activities such as the Bed and Bikefest, Golf and Stay, Splash and Stay, the Romance Package and a new fall package, Wreath Fineries and Wineries.

The Appalachian features a total of 177 vacation homes across the two phases of the development. The 77 homes in the second and final phase are expected to be complete in early fall. Designed in an Adirondack Grand Hotel motif, The Appalachian has furnished studio, one- and two-bedroom configurations. The property features the highly sought after ski-in, ski-out access, underground parking, and a host of other amenities.

In addition to the sold-out Appalachian, Playground Destination Properties Inc is selling the final stage of the popular Black Creek Sanctuary neighborhood, consisting of one-, two- and three-bedroom condos nestled in a serene, protected sanctuary in close proximity to the mountain. Playground Destination Properties Inc., is the licensed broker handling the real estate sales and marketing campaign for Mountain Creek.

Ranked #1 for accessibility by SKI magazine, Mountain Creek is considered one of the East Coast's best facilities with the only Superpipe in the region built to Olympic specifications. The mountain was home this past winter to the 2006 Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix, where the Olympic snowboard team was named.
