The International Association of Conference Centers Brings Clarity
to it's Mission to Champion the Conference Center Concept

Introduces Two-minute Flash Movie on its Website

St. Louis, MO - 16 May 2006 -  The International Association of Conference Centers has introduced a comprehensive two-minute flash movie on its website to demonstrate visually the advantages and benefits of holding meetings at IACC-approved conference centers. http://www.iacconline.org/movie/

The movie was introduced to an audience of 450 at the association's recent 25th anniversary conference in Colorado Springs. Narrated by former IACC Global President, Tim Chudley, the presentation is based on the 30 Universal Criteria which have long been the hallmark of IACC's differentiation from other meeting venues. The criteria set guidelines for membership and include categories such as Priority of Business, Conference Center Design, Food and Beverage, Technology, and Guest Rooms. (The Universal Criteria are available online at http://www.iaccnorthamerica.org/about/index.cfm?fuseaction=MemCrit2  ).

Recent feedback from focus groups conducted on behalf of IACC reveals the sustaining significance of the Universal Criteria to the meeting planning community. The Universal Criteria are generally recognized as the essential lines of differentiation between genuine conference centers and other meeting venues and outline IACC's value proposition that meetings are more productive at an IACC conference center.

Produced by northern California-based Cardinal Communications, the movie includes more than 40 images of IACC facilities to represent the features and benefits of the distraction-free environment presented by IACC centers. "The strong visuals in the clip bring clarity to IACC's mission to champion the conference center concept," said Rod Marymor of Cardinal Communications, "and we're confident that this kind of visual clarification will provide clarification to meeting and event planners at every level."

The flash movie, designed in Macromedia's Shock Wave Flash (SWF), is available on each of IACC's six chapter homepages and the small sized file allows the presentation to start within seconds of opening the new window. The presentation plays in a new window to simplify viewing, and will play on virtually any browser.

IACC's web site is a comprehensive online resource for meeting planners and conference center professionals.  It includes a robust search engine to find and book genuine conference centers around the world, Hot Dates & Rates, Job Board, Events Calendar, Resource Library and information on the IACC Learning Network and Universal Criteria.

Celebrating its Silver Anniversary, the International Association of Conference Centers, founded in 1981, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting understanding and awareness of the conference center industry. Active members meet a stringent set of Universal Criteria and agree to a Code of Ethics. Currently, the association includes approximately 400 members from the United States, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Sweden, France, England, The Netherlands, Germany and Japan.
