Adding Fifth Hotel in Bucharest, Romania |

15, 2006 - Executives at Park Plaza Hotels Europe today reveal plans for
a new hotel in Bucharest, further strengthening the company�s aggressive
expansion pattern across Europe.
The hotel site is that of an existing office building which, undergoing its extensive conversion under the leadership of local architects Constantin Ciurea and their design firm Architect Service, is due for completion at the end of 2007. Located in the old centre of the city near Cismigiu Park, Mihail Kogalniceanu Square and the financial district, the hotel will include 62 guestrooms, restaurant and bar, fitness suite, business centre and conference facilities. The hotel, with its intimate number of guestrooms, facilities and unique design elements fits perfectly within the art�otel collection � Park Plaza Hotels Europe�s quirky, 4-star deluxe art-focused design hotel brand. Joining the company�s 4 existing art�otels (Berlin x2, Dresden and Budapest) art�otel bucharest will share the unique fusion of architecture and contemporary art that so dramatically characterized the brand. As in an art gallery, each art�otel displays artworks and paintings of one single artist, typically local to the city destination. The artist for the new hotel has not yet been selected. Designed by London-based EAD Limited, the interior will boast minimalist décor and furnishings with warm lighting and local influences. Mr Ezra Attia, who heads up EAD Limited, is no stranger to hotel design having been responsible for the interiors of some 600 hotels worldwide, including several properties within Park Plaza Hotels Europe�s suite � Riverbank Park Plaza, London and Astrid Park Plaza Antwerp to name a few.
