SIOUX FALLS SD, June 20, 2006 – LodgeNet Entertainment
Corporation, the world leader in interactive TV and broadband solutions
to hotels, today opened its appearance at HITEC 2006 by announcing the
following highlights relative to its high-speed Internet access (HSIA)
business:
-
As part of the company’s Customer Satisfaction Initiative, LodgeNet commissioned
a third-party survey of hotel general managers served by LodgeNet and three
other major HSIA providers. GMs responding to the survey generally reported
30% higher satisfaction with LodgeNet-provided systems and service than
with that provided by the other major HSIA providers. Additionally, 93%
of current LodgeNet served GMs said they would “probably” or “definitely”
recommend LodgeNet to another hotel.
-
LodgeNet has launched its industry-first Entertainment 2GoSM service, which
enables guests to quickly, easily and legally download movies from an on-site
edge server to their laptops. According to Scott C. Petersen, LodgeNet
President & CEO, guests using Entertainment 2Go with a wired connection
can download a full-length movie in as little as five minutes.
-
LodgeNet recently released an enhanced guest interface that more closely
resembles the menuing of the company’s interactive TV system, resulting
in a more consistent cross-platform experience.
“These achievements reflect our ongoing focus on HSIA, which is a ‘must-have’
service for many travelers,” commented Petersen. “We are extremely pleased
with the results of the recent hotel survey, which evidences our commitment
to outstanding service and solutions to the hotel industry.”
LodgeNet invites HITEC attendees to HSIA demonstrations and discussion
in Booth 301 at the Minneapolis Convention
Center, today through Thursday June 22.
