Benchmark Appoints Diana Wellman Director of Conference Services
for Cheyenne Mountain Resort
.
The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, June 8, 2006 - Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Diana Wellman as director of conference services for Cheyenne Mountain Resort.  Laura Neumann, vice president and general manager, made the announcement.

"It is my pleasure to welcome Diana to our executive staff here at Cheyenne Mountain Resort," said Ms. Neumann.  "She is a seasoned professional with 22 years of experience in the industry and we look forward to her successful leadership of our Conference Services team."

Ms. Wellman actually joined Benchmark Hospitality at Cheyenne Mountain Resort as director of planning, a position she occupied for only a few months before being promoted to director of conference services.  She originally joined the company as a member of a special task force in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a position that lured her out of semi-retirement.  Previous to this, Wellman and her husband owned and operated a dude ranch in Montana, putting her hospitality skills to work for the family business.

For several years, Wellman was an executive for International Conference Resorts (ICR), a hospitality management company that Benchmark purchased in 2001.   While with ICR, she worked in sales & marketing and meeting management positions at Seabrook Island, located near Charleston, South Carolina; Scottsdale Resort  of Scottsdale, Arizona; Barton Creek Resort of Austin, Texas; Cheyenne Mountain Resort and Graylyn International Conference Center of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  She began her hospitality career on Kiawah Island.

Diana Wellman is a graduate of New Hampshire Technical College.  She and her family have returned to Colorado Springs.

Set on 217 lush acres, Cheyenne Mountain Resort captures the rugged charm of the Rockies with design elements of native moss rock, massive beams, rough-sawn siding and cedar shakes.  The resort features 316 beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites, each with a private balcony with mountain and golf course views; two restaurants, a lounge and a pub; 40,000 square feet of meeting and event space; a championship Pete Dye-designed golf course; five swimming pools; 18 tennis courts, squash and racquetball courts as well as a pro shop; Health & Fitness Center; Aquatics Center, and a 35-acre recreation lake where guests enjoy sailboards, canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, volleyball on a sand beach, and catch-and-release fly fishing (the lake is stocked with big German Browns and rainbow trout).  For more information on Cheyenne Mountain Resort, contact  719-538-4000 or toll-free 800-428-8886 or visit  www.cheyennemountain.com.  Benchmark Hospitality International operates Cheyenne Mountain Resort.
