Shaughnessy comes to JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa from Palm Springs, California.  In California, Dan was Director of Market Strategy/Revenue Management for three full service resorts including JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa, Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa and three select service properties throughout the Palm Springs area.

Shaughnessy, who has more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry, has held numerous management and leadership positions with Hilton, Holiday Inn and Marriott in a variety of markets, from airport and suburban properties to destination and convention resorts.

A member of MPI (Meeting Professionals International), Shaughnessy has been actively involved with the organization for the past 11 years and served on the Board of Directors for the Southern California Chapter. 

Born in New York, NY and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Shaughnessy attended the California State University of Northridge.
