Woodlands (Houston), Texas, April 6, 2006 - Benchmark Hospitality International
has announced the appointment of John Hines as director of sales for The
Heldrich, a new $110 million mixed use property being constructed in downtown
New Brunswick, New Jersey. Michael Taylor, newly appointed general
manager for the hotel, made the announcement.
Benchmark will manage the property, which will upon opening include a 248-guestroom hotel, restaurant & bar, a state-of-the-art conference center, ballroom and a spa. The Heldrich is scheduled to open in March of 2007. "I am pleased to announce the addition of John Hines to our pre-opening sales team," said Mr. Taylor. "He is a seasoned Benchmark sales executive with many years of experience in the New Jersey-New York market and brings many strong customer relationships to The Heldrich. He's a great complement to our management team." Mr. Hines was previously senior sales manager for Benchmark's North Maple Inn, located in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. In this position he was highly successful in developing extensive new business for the property with a particular emphasis on the New York market. He joined North Maple Inn as conference sales manager in 2002. Earlier in his career, Hines was regional sales manager for Chauncey Conference Center of Princeton, New Jersey, and corporate sales and catering manager for Grand Summit Hotel of Summit, New Jersey. In 2005, Benchmark Hospitality International honored John Hines with the "Sales Executive of the Year" award. He was voted Leader of the Quarter for North Maple Inn in 2004. Mr. Hines earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Providence College, located in Providence, Rhode Island. He resides with his family in Maplewood, New Jersey.
