Hotel Development in Islamabad, Pakistan |
Islamabad, 10 April 2006 � InterContinental Hotels Group has been appointed
by the Escort Group of Companies to manage an InterContinental Hotels &
Resorts property in Islamabad. The new-build nine-storey, 260-room hotel,
situated in the heart of the capital�s diplomatic enclave and set against
the backdrop of the Himalayan foothills, will be targeted at international
business and leisure travellers as well as the country�s political and
diplomatic community.
A key feature of InterContinental Islamabad will be its main ballroom, which, at more than 800 square metres in size, will be the largest hotel ballroom in Pakistan. This will be complemented by a landscaped lawn ideal for outdoor functions, three restaurants including Italian and Chinese cuisine specialty restaurants, a full-service spa with gym facilities and an outdoor pool. The hotel�s spacious guest rooms will be styled along contemporary lines combined with local accents. The hotel will also offer the InterContinental brand�s signature Club InterContinental service, which includes enhanced benefits including access to an exclusive club lounge, complimentary daily breakfast, evening cocktails and canapés and all-day refreshments, and personalised concierge services. The hotel will also feature two presidential suites.
