The $30 million project includes the 120,000-gallon Mayan Adventure Indoor Waterpark featuring colorful Mayan themes such as primitive-looking sculptures, colorful murals, and unique rock formations that complement the waterpark's thrilling water activities. Last fall, the hotel began converting its Holidome and took out nearly two-dozen guest rooms to create the exciting waterpark. 

All of the remaining 214 rooms and suites are being remodeled and five are being converted to kids suites with bunk beds. Only guests of the hotel will have access to the waterpark. There will not be day passes for non-guests. There will be great views of the four story high waterpark from the nearly 70 rooms that overlook the Mayan Adventure. 

Around the perimeter of the spacious waterpark, there is plenty of room for lounging as well as three cabana areas, a 2,500 sq. ft. game room with redemption video games, three party rooms for birthdays and other celebrations, childrens play room and activity center, men's and women's locker rooms and a gift shop with logoed clothing and souvenirs. In one corner of the waterpark, a bar and snack shop is available to guests with seating both in the outlets and in the waterpark. 

The Bricton Group, Inc., headquartered in Park Ridge, Ill, manages the hotel and waterpark. Bricton operates 11 hotel properties in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Florida. The property is owned by the Elmhurst Hotel Corporation.
