 Carlson Hotels Names Steve Mogck, Formerly SVP of Legal, to
EVP of Select Service Hotels - Country Inns & Suites
and Park Inn Brands

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (March 20, 2006)----Carlson Hotels Worldwide today announced the promotion of Steve Mogck, formerly senior vice president of Legal, to the position of executive vice president of Select Service Hotels for Carlson Hotels Worldwide.  The appointment was announced by Yvonne La Penotiere, president, Carlson Hotels Worldwide-The Americas.  In his new role, Mogck will oversee the Country Inns & Suites By Carlson and Park Inn hotel brands and will report directly to La Penotiere.  Mogck's responsibilities include building brand culture; serving as the key contact for franchisee and partner relationships; serving as the brand champion; leading orientation, training and field service; and developing brand systems, processes and standards.

"This appointment recognizes Steve's wealth of business experience as well as his commitment to Carlson Hotels Worldwide," said La Penotiere.  "It also acknowledges his exceptional performance as a business leader and will provide him with a new and exciting challenge to position our select service brands for a successful journey ahead."

Mogck takes the position previously held by Nancy Johnson who was recently promoted to executive vice president of Carlson's Full Service Hotels which include Radisson Hotels & Resorts and Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts.  

Mogck joined Carlson in 1998 as director of Contract Administration for Carlson Hotels.  In 2000, he became associate general counsel for parent company Carlson Companies.  Prior to Carlson, Mogck was an attorney with Gray Plant Mooty and the former Popham, Haik, Schnobrich & Kaufman law firms in Minneapolis. He received his J.D. with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law in Iowa City, Iowa.  He also earned his master of business administration degree with distinction from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois; and his bachelor of science degree in Business from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
