15, 2006)�Hotel veteran Jay Rosenthal has been appointed executive vice
president for The Harp Group, a Chicago-based real estate investment and
development company specializing in hospitality and retail projects.
Rosenthal will be responsible for evaluating hotel acquisition opportunities
including market and hotel assessment and due diligence as well as asset
management for The Harp Group�s hotel portfolio.
Previously, Rosenthal was the area managing director for Starwood Hotels & Resorts� W Hotels in Chicago. His hospitality career spans 30 years and includes key leadership positions with Promus Hotel Corporation, Doubletree Hotels Corporation, Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Hilton Hotels Corporation. �Jay brings extensive experience and a proven record of success in hotel operations,� said Peter G. Dumon, president of The Harp Group. �His industry knowledge will be an asset to The Harp Group as we continue to grow our hotel portfolio.� The Harp Group�s hotel portfolio currently includes the historic 285-room Ambassador East and Pump Room in Chicago; the Doubletree Hotel Los Angeles International Airport in El Segundo, Calif.; and the 113-room Courtyard Cleveland Beachwood by Marriott in Beachwood, Ohio. Other hotel developments underway include the 411-room Westin Chicago North Shore Hotel in Wheeling, Ill.; the Treehouse at the Ravines in Naperville, Ill.; the Gateway Hotel Campus in Des Plaines, Ill.; and the Westin at Yorktown Center in Lombard, Ill. Actively involved in the hospitality industry, Rosenthal has served on the boards of the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association and the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau. In addition, he was the 2005 in-coming chair for the Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association. Rosenthal earned a degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
