Director for Singh Hotels & Resorts
Florida Keys (January 16, 2006) – Stefanie Smith, whose professional catering
and planning experience includes lavish events for the past three United
States Presidents, Heads of State, Dignitaries and Houston’s Social Elite
has been named Corporate Food and Beverage Director for Singh Hotels &
Resorts, a new family of signature resort residences with ownership privileges
in the Florida Keys.
Smith will manage catering and food & beverage operations at the growing number of Singh properties, including the Butterfly Café at the company’s flagship Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort in Marathon. Opening in January, 2006, the Butterfly Café has been the subject of much anticipation as its newly appointed Executive Chef James Henahan, the famed “Chef Shadow,” is creating a menu featuring Tropical World Cuisine with a particular emphasis on local ingredients and ocean fresh seafood.
Smith received her Bachelor of Science from the Conrad N. Hilton School of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston in 2000 and quickly built a reputation for innovative cuisine, crisp service and attention to detail while designing and handling fund raising galas and major corporate and social events in Houston and around the country.
The Singh Hotels & Resorts portfolio includes Tranquility Bay Beach
House Resort, a 12-acre private enclave of two and three-bedroom beach
houses opening soon in Marathon. Following closely will be Indigo
Reef Marina Homes Resort, Coral Lagoon Resort and Marina and The Boat House
Condominium, also in Marathon, and Parrot Key Resort, in Key West.
