  Northstar Hotels Group, Inc. Rebrands the Former Hilton Southbury
to Crowne Plaza, in Southbury, Connecticut

ATLANTA (Jan. 20, 2006) - InterContinental Hotels Group announced today the opening of its latest Crowne Plaza hotel in Southbury, Conn. 
 
The Crowne Plaza Southbury, which is owned by Northstar Hotels Group, Inc., and managed by Northstar Southbury Management, Inc., under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group is located at 1284 Strongtown Rd., Southbury, Conn., 06488. Telephone: (203) 598-7600; Facsimile: (203) 598-0492. The hotel was formerly known as the Hilton Southbury.
 
The Crowne Plaza Southbury is conveniently located off I-84 between Hartford and Danbury and is just minutes from a variety of restaurants, shops and the Antique Capital of Connecticut.  The Palace Theater, also nearby, is just one of the many cultural centers in the area. Major corporations such as Chemtura, IBM, Timex, Management Resouses, Charter Communications, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Oxford Airport have offices in the surrounding area.
 
By the end of 2006, the 197-room hotel will undergo a $2 million renovation and will include updated room décor, upgrades to the lobby, restaurant, pool area, fitness center and building exterior. The hotel's Arrowhead Restaurant, offers American cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the Lobby Lounge offers light fare and cocktails.

Consistent with the Crowne Plaza brand, the hotel offers a comprehensive meetings package to ensure a seamless planning process and exceptional meeting experience consisting of three key components: a Two-Hour Response Guarantee, Crowne Meetings Director and a Meetings Daily Debrief. With nearly 13,000-sq. ft. of meeting space, including two ballrooms and nine additional meeting rooms, the Crowne Plaza Southbury provides the perfect venue for business meetings and social functions.
 
The hotel features the newly introduced Crowne Plaza Sleep Advantage which is available at all Crowne Plaza hotels in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.  The Sleep Advantage encompasses the entire sleep experience, from training staff on how to create and maintain a restful environment to providing innovative products and services. Program components include new bedding, guaranteed wake-up calls, designated quiet zones, night lights, drape clips, sleep CDs, sleep tips and amenities such as eye masks, ear plugs and lavender spray.
