 Ken Dittrich Appointed Managing Director of Paradisus Puerto Rico

RIO GRANDE, P.R. February 28, 2006 � Andre Gerondeau, vice president of Central and North America for Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts, announced the appointment of Ken Dittrich as the new managing director of Paradisus Puerto Rico.

Dittrich is responsible for managing the first and only five-star all-inclusive luxury golf resort in Puerto Rico. As part of his responsibilities, he is in charge of the oversight and management of its 600 employees, six food and beverage outlets as well as a 96-room boutique hotel within the hotel �Royal Service�, casino operations, large convention facilities with the objective of maintaining the highest levels of guest satisfaction in this $180 million project.

�Ken is the ideal candidate to occupy this position,� said Gerondeau. �His capacity has been more than proven with his experience in Paradisus Riviera Cancun and its success in Mexico which fits perfectly with the high standards of service that characterize Paradisus Puerto Rico.�

Dittrich has 27 years of experience in the hotel industry. Prior to his appointment at Paradisus Puerto Rico, he was the managing director of Paradisus Riviera Cancun in Mexico, that under his leadership obtained prestigious certifications such as Leading Hotels of the World, 4-Diamond AAA award, the Golden Apple Award from U.S. travel wholesaler Apple Vacations and has occupied first place in the Guest Satisfaction Assurance quality program of Sol Melia�s Latin America division for three consecutive years.

Dittrich�s experience includes the position of general manager of the 320-room Blue Tree Park Hotel in Angra dos Reis in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. From 1997 to 1998, he held the position of vice president of operations for Regent International based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, responsible for implementing quality and service standards in its hotel portfolio world wide. He also managed the 450-room Westin Caesar Park Hotel in Panama City, Panama, a five-star business hotel, after working for Westin Hotels as well as Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts in its European and Asian branch in several top management positions in France, England, Indonesia, South Korea and in Singapore with Regent Hotels International.

Dittrich graduated in hotel management from the Hotel and Catering School in Duesseldorf, Germany. He also obtained a hotel administration degree from the Business School in Heidelberg, Germany.
