The
Woodlands (Houston) Texas, October 2005 - Benchmark Hospitality International
has announced the appointment of Tom Cross as director of food & beverage
for Turtle Bay Resort, the signature property located on the North Shore
of Oahu, Hawaii.
Abid Butt, vice president and managing director for the resort, made the announcement saying, "I am pleased to welcome Tom as director of food & beverage for Benchmark at Turtle Bay Resort. He comes to us with over a decade of leadership experience at Hawaiian resorts and we're glad he is part of our executive team." Mr. Cross was previously director of food and beverage at Kona Village Resort, an exclusive property of individual bungalows on the Big Island of Hawaii. Prior to this position, he was director of food and beverage at the Hawaiian Regent Hotel on Oahu, the third largest hotel in the islands. Cross received his education at the University of Utah and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a Certificate in International Relations. Cross also attended the University of the Pacific with an emphasis on non-western cultural studies. He resides in Hawaii Kai on Oahu. Located on the North Shore of Oahu, the 880-acre Turtle Bay Resort recently completed $60 million in renovations. Managed by Benchmark Hospitality International, the resort's accommodations include a 401-room hotel and The Beach Cottages at Turtle Bay Resort, 42 luxurious, beachfront cottages. The resort has five miles of beachfront that include Kawela Bay, Kuilima
Cove and Turtle Bay. It is the only resort on Oahu with 36 holes of championship
golf: the George Fazio and Arnold Palmer courses. In addition to world
class golf, Turtle Bay Resort is rich in other recreation and resort amenities,
including an exquisite new spa, two lushly landscaped oceanside pools,
riding stables with ocean and trail riding, a full-service tennis center
by Peter Burwash International, a surf school by Hans Hedemann and 12 miles
of ocean-front hiking trails.
