Three Rocco Forte Hotels Opening in Germany |
| 17 October 2005 - Rocco Forte Hotels is pleased to announce the appointment
of Martin Elsner as Pre-opening General Manager Germany. Elsner will
be responsible for launching all three German properties currently under
development. The first, Villa Kennedy, will open in Frankfurt in
January 2006, followed by Berlin�s Hotel de Rome in July 2006 and Munich�s
Hotel Ludwig in Spring 2007.
Elsner will be temporarily based in Frankfurt and Berlin prior to the opening of these two hotels, before relocating permanently to Munich, where he will oversee all Rocco Forte Hotels German operations. Elsner, who is currently General Manager of Rocco Forte�s ever-popular Hotel de Russie in Rome, will ensure that each of the German hotels is ready to open, with properly trained staff providing the highest levels of personal service and all operations working in compliance with the exceptional standards expected of a Rocco Forte property. When all three properties are open, they will rank among the country�s top hotels, making Rocco Forte Hotels the leading luxury hotel operator in Germany. German-born Elsner, who has spent his entire working life in the hotel industry, has been General Manager at Hotel de Russie for the last two years. Prior to that, he worked as General Manager of the four Lungarno Hotels in Florence, which are owned by the Ferragamo family. He had previously worked for Rocco Forte Hotels, first as Executive Assistant Manager at Hotel Amigo in Brussels and then as Project Manager for the Hotel Savoy in Florence and Hotel de Russie in Rome. Early on in his career, Elsner spent 15 years in Hamburg working for various five-star properties in a variety of departments, gaining valuable hotel experience at all levels. Commenting on his appointment, Elsner said: �I�m very much looking forward to this challenging new role within Rocco Forte Hotels.
