ORLEANS � Loews New Orleans Hotel is being restored to perfection and will
begin the first phase of its re-opening as early as Oct. 17, 2005. The
four-diamond hotel was spared from flooding and vandalism in the aftermath
of Hurricane Katrina and is now in the midst of restoring the property
and assisting in the recovery of New Orleans. The hotel will offer availability
first to local companies that are searching for much-needed office space
or employee housing.
�Loews New Orleans Hotel was fortunate not to have standing water inside the hotel, which means we can recover and re-open in a timely manner,� says General Manager Steve Ferran. �Being a good neighbor is very much a part of our culture at Loews, so we are eager to reach out to those businesses in the area that were not as lucky, providing shelter and refuge as we rebuild our community together.� With renovations well underway, the first floor, including reception, lobby and bar, as well as the hotel�s meeting space and ballroom are already restored to their original splendor and fully functional. The guestrooms will be opened in phases through December 2005, and the famed Café Adelaide is also expected to open before the end of the year.
