New Castle Hotels Selects J/Brice Design of Boston for
$13 Million Renovation of Woodcliff Lake Hilton
in Bergen County, New Jersey

.

Shelton, CT - --- New Castle Hotels, (www.newcastlehotels.com) an independent operator and developer of upscale hotels, resorts and conference centers in the US and Canada, named J/Brice Design International, Inc. of Boston to renovate its Woodcliff Lake and Hilton in Bergen County, NJ. This will be J/Brice Design¹s third renovation of the property New Castle regards as a Crown Jewel.

Founded in 1989 by Jeff Ornstein, chief executive officer, J/Brice Design International (www.jbricedesign.com) has served as New Castle¹s preferred design firm for the past 14 years. The firm was selected to the head the $13 million dollar project, in part, for its ability to meet Hilton brand standards while simultaneously differentiating New Castle properties in local and national travel, events and corporate markets.

In announcing the appointment, Gerald P. Chase, New Castle president and chief operating officer, said, "Jeff and his team are easy to work with. They have a free flowing style, ability to communicate and experience as approved designers with all the major flags. With J/Brice, multi-flag operators can do one stop shopping." New Castle prides itself on efficiency for a company that completes some $30 million annually in renovation and expansion, and owns and operates 24 hotels in nine states and three Canadian provinces. New Castle generates annual revenues of $150 million.

The Woodcliff Lake Hilton is a luxurious property with 338 guestrooms surrounded by 21 acres in the heart of Bergen County. Its ample meeting and function space, for 10-1,000 guests, totals 33,000 sq. ft. and a 6,000-sq. ft. amphitheater accommodates seating for 300. Dining includes Café Pronto and Saffron and Nickleby's the bar & lounge.

Ornstein noted, "J/Brice Design will redesign and enhance the lobby space to resonate with today¹s suburban upscale market. The challenge is to meld that requirement with a hotel that does a brisk international corporate business serving Sony North America, BMW, KPMG and other major corporations headquartered in Woodcliff."

Chase Added, "Compared to other firms, Jeff¹s style is unique. His team will present a collage of fabrics and materials and offer examples of as many as a dozen directions to the investors and other stakeholders in a project. Jeff is a creative inspiration, consensus builder and terrific business partner."

J/Brice Design has managed New Castle Property renovations totaling nearly a half billion dollars. Notably, Ornstein¹s firm managed the renovation of the grand historic Nova Scotian Hotel of Halifax following its acquisition by New Castle. When the hotel was reopened and reflagged as a Westin, Conde Nast Traveler named it, "Best in the World." Much of the credit goes to J/Brice for recreating what is essentially the Waldorf Astoria of the Atlantic Provinces.
