| BEVERLY HILLS, Calif - Oct. 14, 2005 -- Hilton Hotels Corporation (NYSE:HLT)
said today that the company is currently engaged in discussions with U.K.-based
Hilton Group PLC with respect to a potential acquisition of the latter
company's lodging business. While discussions are ongoing, a definitive
agreement has not been signed, and there can be no assurance that any transaction
will result from such discussions.
Hilton Hotels Corporation does not intend to make any further announcements
with respect to these discussions until either a definitive agreement is
reached or such discussions terminate.
