VEGAS, October 3, 2005 - Marriott Vacation Club International (MVCI),
the recognized worldwide leader in the vacation ownership industry and
a division of Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR), opened its first
Las Vegas resort over the weekend Marriott's Grand Chateau.
Located at 75 East Harmon, just off the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, the resort sits between the Aladdin and MGM Grand hotels, and establishes a new level of luxury within the vacation ownership industry. Marriott's Grand Chateau exudes the grandeur of a French countryside chateau in the late nineteenth century. "Las Vegas is a vibrant destination, and it brings yet another exceptional vacation experience to our nearly 290,000 owners," said Stephen P. Weisz, president of Marriott Vacation Club International. "Marriott owners have long expressed interest in this amazing city. We think they'll be pleased with the result." The resort will offer 895 (upon build-out) one-, two- and three-bedroom villas ranging from 820-2,095 square feet in four 37-story towers. The first phase opens with 126 villas designed with rich hues of red, green and gold and exquisite tapestries draping the windows, as well as, a fully-equipped kitchen with tile floors and granite counters; a separate living and dining area; 42-inch Sony plasma television, DVD and stereo in the living room; deep soaking tub and oversized shower; washer/dryer; and Wi-Fi accessibility.
