PARK CITY, Utah, October 11, 2005 Gemstone Resorts International, LLC, a leading resort management company that specializes in managing and asset managing four- and five-diamond-quality, unique urban hotels and lifestyle resorts, today announced that it has named Dave Cocks director of transitions.  In his new position, he will provide leadership to newly acquired and under construction properties to execute master plans and re-positioning efforts.  Additionally, Cocks will oversee the installation of the Gemstone vision, philosophy and operating systems.

Daves strong leadership skills, coupled with his extensive experience in the operations of luxury hotels and resorts make him a natural for this position, states Jeff McIntyre, Gemstone Principal.  In addition, his philosophy and style directly align with Gemstones core values and leadership approach.

Prior to joining Gemstone, Cocks was executive vice president of operations for Noble House and Resorts.  With more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, he has held a variety of positions, including president of Westmark Hotels, a division of Holland America Line, and various management positions with ITT Sheraton Corporation.

Although he will be responsible for multiple properties, one of the largest projects on Cocks agenda will be spearheading the expansion of the Gemstone-managed Lake Lawn Resort in Lake Delevan, Wisconsin, which will be undergoing a $390 million, four-year redevelopment plan.  Lake Lawn's redevelopment will create 1,222 rooms and suites, including the remodeling of 222 existing rooms, a 125,000-square-foot indoor water park, a 165-slip marina and boardwalk, and a 30,000-square-foot spa. Other amenities will include 100,000 square feet of new and renovated meeting space, a redesigned golf course and five new restaurants.

Gemstones goal for Lake Lawn Resort is to create meeting and leisure facilities that will provide the property with a year-round guest base and make it one of the most desirable destination resorts in the Midwest, Cocks said.  Im looking forward to the challenges of Lake Lawn and my other responsibilities going forward.
