Rising Energy Costs, Increase Guest Satisfaction for installation; EE to be installed in eight Shaner Hotels within next six months |
ROCHESTER HILLS, MICH. NOVEMBER 14, 2005 Shaner
Hotel Group (SHG), one of the nations top hotel management companies based
in State College, Penn., has selected Energy Eye as its exclusive
energy-management system provider.
Energy Eye is a new, affordable, standalone Wireless Radio Frequency EMS that maintains guest satisfaction while reducing room electricity expenses. The system will be on display Nov. 13 Nov. 15 in Booth No. 3178 at the Jacob K. Javitz Convention Center in New York during the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show. Rising energy costs are a constant problem for hotel owners, and in order to remain strong in market we need to do all we can to be more efficient, said Lance Shaner, Chairman and CEO of Shaner Hotel Group. Energy Eye is the absolute best energy-management system that Ive seen in quite some time. Their support team is superb, they are knowledgeable and responsive, and the payback from the systembased on rising energy costsis less than three years. Shaner said his hotels have used several competitive energy-management systems in the past, and each involved numerous customer complaints regarding system reliability, functionality and ease of use. Energy Eye is reliable and our guests are extremely satisfied, Shaner said. We tested the system eight months ago at one hotel and we were impressed with the energy savings and the systems efficiency. We expect to expand our relationship and install Energy Eye in five to eight hotels over the next six months. If the result is as successful as we anticipate it to be, we will plan to introduce Energy Eye to our complete portfolio of 23 hotels representing 4,000 guestrooms. Matthew Mrowczynski, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Energy Eye, said he is thrilled to be in partnership with the Shaner Hotel Group. Shaner is one of the most successful owner/operators of hotels in our industry, Mrowczynski said. To be in partnership with this group of highly respected management professionals is a true testament to the Energy Eye product. Shaner has a genuine concern for its guests and its employees, and it expects nothing less than quality for its hotelsand thats exactly what Energy Eye provides. Energy Eye uses a combination of advanced Passive Infrared (PIR) Sensors and Wireless technologies to independently control room Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) temperatures while occupants are not in their guestrooms. We can install our components in same time as takes a housekeeper to make a room ready, Mrowczynski said. Guestrooms will be available for rent daily, without losing any revenues. Its simple to set up and requires no software or computer. Its completely worry-free. Solving Problems, Satisfying Guests One problem Shaner said his hotels were experiencing
was keeping room temperature to a comfortable level when guests were in
their rooms. Because the Energy Eye System is capable of detecting whether
or not a guestroom is occupied (through information transmitted to the
HVAC Control Module by a Passive Infrared Detector and Micro Door Sensor),
that problem is now eliminated.
