CORTE MADERA, Calif., Nov. 18, 2005 - Larkspur Hospitality, one of the nation's fastest growing independent hotel companies, announced today that it has acquired the Casa Munras Garden Hotel in Monterey, California.  The hotel will be renamed "Casa Munras, a Larkspur Hotel" and will become part of The Larkspur Collection, a group of three and four star independent hotels.

"The Casa Munras is a unique gem of a hotel and we are extremely pleased to add it to the Larkspur Collection," said Karl Hoagland, Chairman and CEO of Larkspur Hospitality.  "The hotel has a long, storied history in the Monterey area, dating back to the early 19th century, and we intend to restore and highlight its rich history, while adding our signature Larkspur amenities focusing on guest comfort and productivity.  Similar to our four other Larkspur Collection hotels, the Casa Munras is in a highly desirable destination for leisure and business travelers seeking a fun and memorable experience.  The Casa Munras significantly broadens the scope of upscale destination hotels we can offer to our growing base of Larkspur guests, which now includes 11 Larkspur Landing hotels and our four Larkspur Collection hotels in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest."

Located in the heart of Monterey, along California's Central Coast, Casa Munras features 166 guest rooms, including 46 fireplace rooms.  All guest rooms offer complimentary wireless High-Speed Internet access.  The hotel, surrounded by beautiful gardens, also provides guests with an outdoor heated pool and patio area.  The hotel also offers The Casa Cafe and Bar, a warm and casual venue for refreshments and gathering.

Casa Munras features six meeting rooms providing almost 5,000 square feet of meeting and banquet facilities that can accommodate groups of up to 300 people for a variety of events including wedding receptions and conferences. All meeting rooms offer a full range of audio visual equipment and wireless High-Speed Internet connections are available to support all event needs.

Casa Munras was built around, and incorporates, the original hacienda of Don Esteban Munras, the last Spanish diplomat to California.  The hotel is a short walk from Fisherman's Wharf and downtown Monterey where visitors will find a variety of shops, restaurants and the renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium.
