December 5, 2005 - PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP announced the appointment of Scott Berman as advisory practice leader of the firm's US hospitality and leisure group.  In his new role Mr. Berman will have responsibility for leading client service, marketing, operations and general management of the business unit.  Prior to accepting the new H&L leadership position, he led the H&L practice's resort, vacation ownership, sports, convention and leisure specialties, and coordinated advisory services for PwC in the Caribbean and Latin America.

"Scott Berman's management and operational capabilities, along with his industry expertise, will help to ensure that the hospitality and leisure business continues to maintain its leadership position in the US market," said PwC advisory partner and global and US dispute analysis and investigations practice leader Greg Bardnell. "Scott is recognized in the market as a leading business advisor providing market research and financial analysis for hotels, resorts, vacation ownership and leisure real estate."

PwC partner Michael French, who currently runs PwC's gaming advisory practice, will assist Mr. Berman in his new role by overseeing and coordinating the group's marketing, sales and business development efforts as well as the day-to-day operations in New York and Philadelphia.

Former H&L practice leader Bjorn Hanson, Ph. D., will focus his efforts on the development of research and thought leadership for the firm, bringing his well recognized research and statistical skills to support PwC's knowledge management organization. Dr. Hanson will continue in his global hospitality and leisure thought leadership and research role and be active in client research, strategy, expert witness and other client engagements.

Scott Berman joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1992 and was admitted to the partnership in 1999. He graduated from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration in 1984.
