Tom Cupo was previously director of operations for The Chattanoogan, an urban-based conference center located in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee.  He assumed this role during the important pre-opening phase of the hotel. 

Cupo has been active throughout his tenure with Benchmark in providing operational support and leadership to several other Benchmark properties.  He has served as interim general manager for The Northland Inn of Minneapolis and The Kingbridge Center in Toronto.

Mr. Cupo was previously director of property operations at Benchmark's North Maple Inn of Basking Ridge, New Jersey.  While in this position he received the certifications of Real Property Administrator and Facilities Management Administrator from the prestigious Building Owners and Managers Institute, located in Arnold, Maryland. The certifications cover all aspects of property management with an emphasis on asset management, design and operation, real estate law, finance, and business ethics. 

Tom Cupo began his hospitality career in 1990 in engineering at The Governor Morris Hotel, located in Morristown, New Jersey.  His first position for the renowned property was chief engineer. He was later promoted to property manager. 

A man of diverse interests, Cupo has a private pilot license. He and family are relocating to Richmond.
