Michael Fernandez Named General Manager and Frank Fuentes Director
of Sales for The Regent South Beach in Miami Beach

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (August 31, 2005) ---- Regent International Hotels today announced two executive team appointments for The Regent South Beach, a luxury boutique hotel opening later this year in the heart of Miami Beach�s Historic District.  Mr. Michael Fernandez has been named general manager, and Mr. Frank Fuentes will serve as director of sales and marketing  for the property.

Michael Fernandez to Lead The Regent South Beach as General Manager

As general manager, Mr. Fernandez will be responsible for directing and overseeing all day-to-day operations of the luxury condominium hotel. 

Most recently Mr. Fernandez was general manager at The Tides, a luxury condominium hotel in Miami Beach.  He has also successfully managed daily operations at the Four Seasons Los Angeles in Beverly Hills, Calif., and the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale in Ariz.  In addition, Mr. Fernandez spent several years in management positions in both resort and city locations with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.

Frank Fuentes to Lead Sales Initiatives

With nearly 20 years of sales and marketing experience, Mr. Fuentes will be responsible for achieving revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals for the hotel by developing and implementing strategies that increase both awareness of the property and overall sales. Mr. Fuentes reports to Mr.  Fernandez.

Mr. Fuentes brings extensive hotel executive-level experience to The Regent South Beach, having most recently served as corporate director of sales for Sol Group Corporation (Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts).  In this role, he effectively led the company�s sales teams and activities throughout Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. Under his leadership, his teams increased revenue from $90 million to more than $120 million in 2004 through increased reservations from tour operators, online partners, groups and electronic distribution systems. 

Throughout his career, Mr. Fuentes has held several management-level positions within the hotel and travel industry not only in Florida, but also in New York City and New Jersey.  He holds a bachelor�s degree in business from Boston University, and is an active member in several hotel and travel industry associations.
