 Linda Finley Named Director of Group Sales, Incentives
& Meetings for Barceló Hotels & Resorts
.
Miami, September 23, 2005 – Barceló Hotels & Resorts today announced the appointment of Linda Finley to the newly created position of Director of Group Sales, Incentives & Meetings.   In this position, Ms Finley will also oversee the incentive and business travel markets for Barceló Hotels & Resorts worldwide with an emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean.  Ms. Finley is headquartered in Orlando and can be reached at:  l.finley@barcelo.com.  Ms. Finley’s appointment is made in conjunction with this year’s planned opening of the Barceló Maya Tropical & Colonial Beach in Riviera Maya, as well as the acquisition of The Tucancun in Cancun, Mexico, and the growing emphasis on Barceló Resort properties in the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica.
 
Ms. Finley is a 20 year hospitality industry sales veteran.  She joins Barceló from Occidental Hotels & Resorts in Orlando where she was Director of Group Sales.  

“Linda’s extensive and successful background in group sales coupled with her knowledge of the Caribbean and Mexico are a tremendous asset as Barceló Hotels & Resorts places growing emphasis on our group sales efforts,” said Oscar Serrano, Contracting Director, Barceló Hotels & Resorts.  
 
“With more than 30 hotels and resorts that include some of the largest conference facilities throughout the Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America, Barceló is keenly focused on making deeper in-roads into the important group and incentive markets. Our intent is that Ms. Finley will help to grow this reputation in the group and incentive market,” added Serrano.
 
Ms. Finley has also held hospitality sales positions with the Sheraton Orlando North in Maitland, FL, the Radisson Twin Towers in Orlando, and the Holiday Inn in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the Sheraton Grand Paradise Island in Nassau and the Bonaventure Resort & Spa in Ft. Lauderdale. Ms. Finley is a graduate of North Texas State University.
