Charles Marshall Elevated to Chairman and Founder of Marshall
Management, Michael Marshall Named CEO and President

SALISBURY, Md., August 29, 2005—Marshall Management, Inc., a leading mid-sized management company, today announced that Michael Marshall has been promoted to CEO and president.  Concurrently, Charles Marshall has been elevated to the title chairman and founder of the company.

“Michael grew up in the business and has more than 25 years of hospitality industry experience,” said Charles Marshall, chairman and founder.  “His dedication and determination have been tremendous assets that we have used to become one of the leading mid-sized management companies in North America.  We will continue to draw on Michael’s strengths to achieve our full potential in the 21st century.”

Prior to joining Marshall Management, Michael Marshall held general manager positions at Comfort Inns, Holiday Inns, and Sheraton Inns throughout the Midwest and along the East Coast.  Since joining Marshall Management, he has supervised hotel operations, and has overseen major renovations and repositioning and new property development.

In his new role, he will be responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations, marketing, technology initiatives and business expansion.  Mike Marshall received a bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va., and completed the Advanced Management Program at Cornell University.  He is a member of the Cornell Society of Hoteliers.

Charles Marshall, whose career in the hospitality industry has spanned 40 years, will be responsible for Marshall Management’s strategic planning and the negotiation of ownership, management and consulting contracts.  Prior to forming the company in 1980, he served in general management positions with Golden Ox Restaurants; Ramada, Holiday, and Sheraton Inns; and Ocean Pines, a planned living community.  He has received numerous performance awards, including Sheraton "Manager of the Year" and the "Distinguished Achievement Award,” presented by the International Franchise Association. He has a Hotel and Restaurant Administration degree from Oklahoma State University.

Marshall Management, founded in 1980, has special expertise in operating three- and four-star branded hotels and resorts, averaging 100 to 400 rooms, in urban and central business districts, suburban/drive-to and resort locations.  In addition, the company has a proven track record managing independent resort properties.  Located in Salisbury, Md., the company has managed a wide array of leading hotel brands, for such major franchise companies as Hilton, Sheraton, InterContinental Hotel Group, Choice and Cendant.
