Steven Smith Named General Manager
For Hyatt Regency Long Beach

Long Beach, Calif.-(May 16, 2005) � Steven J. Smith has been appointed general manager for Hyatt Regency Long Beach in Long Beach, California.  As General Manager, Smith will be responsible for the entire operation of the 522-room hotel and its 500 employees.  Previously, Smith was general manager for Hyatt Regency Bellevue just east of Seattle, Washington.

A seasoned industry professional, Smith began his career with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in 1985 as a housekeeping supervisor at Hyatt Regency Crystal City adjacent to Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia.  During his 20 years with Hyatt, Smith has held management positions at Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, Hyatt Regency Reston, Hyatt Cherry Hill, Hyatt Regency Baltimore, Hyatt Regency Miami, and Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa.

A native of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
