Provider For Hawthorn Suites Hotels;
Extended-stay hotels joining the US Franchise Systems
family will be required to install WinPM
|Phoenix — May 13, 2005 — Atlanta-based US Franchise
Systems (USFS), parent company of the franchisors of the Microtel Inns
& Suites, Hawthorn and Best Inns & Suites hotel brands, announced
that it has selected the WinPM system, developed by Phoenix-based Multi-Systems
Inc. (MSI), as its exclusive property-management system platform.
According to Steve Jacobs, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for USFS, all Hawthorn Suites extended-stay brand hotels will transition to the MSI WinPM system, although no deadline for the transition has been established. Properties that joined the franchise system beginning March 1, 2004, are required to install WinPM. Approximately 45 of the 112 Hawthorn Suites properties now open are using the system.
“MSI's WinPM system is unique in that it allows our hotels to always be best prepared for any and every change that occurs in the hospitality technology area,” Jacobs said. “The system offers the superior flexibility and functionality we need to serve our guests with optimum speed and efficiency. MSI’s three-tier architecture makes it easy for us to interface to other peripheral property systems, and because of the system’s ease of use, training is never an issue. We are confident that with WinPM eventually in all Hawthorn Suites hotels, our front-office employees and other departmental managers and staff can spend their valuable time doing what we at USFS hotels do best – take care of our guests.”
“We are pleased that USFS and Hawthorn Suites has selected WinPM to be their PMS of choice across the brand,” said Rick Munson, MSI President and C.E.O. “Deploying WinPM to all Hawthorn Suites properties will significantly help to streamline their daily operations and enhance their guest-service efforts. The bottom line, however, is helping our partner hotels, such as Hawthorn Suites, to increase occupancy and RevPAR by providing them with the tools they need to make their jobs easier.”
