June 20, 2005 - Doyle A. Graham, Jr., President of Valencia Group is
pleased to announce the appointment of Jason P. Melton as vice president
of corporate finance and John C. Boulware as corporate controller.
Jason P. Melton boasts an impressive background in the real estate and business development industry. His responsibilities as vice president of corporate finance include equity placement, sourcing and negotiating project debt financing, assisting with the crafting of appropriate transaction structures for each unique hotel/market opportunity and all aspects of financial analysis and due diligence. Prior to joining Valencia Group, Melton was co-founder, principal and director of El Dorado Dream Home, L.L.C., a residential real estate investment firm, where he facilitated the merger between two real estate companies and grew the company�s portfolio to more than 90 homes across four states. Before that, he was vice president of business development and mergers and acquisitions of ASCO, plc, an international oilfield and supply chain logistics company with over $800 million in revenue and 3,000 employees. Prior to joining ASCO, Melton completed a variety of capital markets and M&A transactions as an investment banker for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Melton graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in economics. John C. Boulware joins Valencia Group with more than 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry. As corporate controller, his duties include the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and budgets, monitoring systems and controls as well as supervising an accounting staff of 12. His extensive background includes work as controller at the Omni Houston Hotel where he oversaw the financial performance of the Five Diamond hotel with annual revenues exceeding $24 million, and he was awarded Controller of the Year for Omni Hotels in 2000. In addition, Boulware was director of operations at Hotel Derek, a Preferred Hotels and Resorts property, where he was responsible for all front of the house operations, housekeeping and food and beverage. In 2003, he was involved in the creation and implementation of opening procedures for Hotel Icon, a four-star, luxury, boutique hotel in Houston. Boulware received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from North Georgia University. Valencia Group, based in Houston, Texas, developed and manages Hotel Valencia Santana Row in San Jose, California, and Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. Each property provides guests with a sleek and sophisticated four-star experience featuring hip, yet classic design, intimate meeting facilities, and unparalleled personal service. In addition to the Hotel Valencia brand, Valencia Group also developed and manages two limited-service products in Austin, Texas; one being a 16-story high-rise Hampton Inn & Suites which is the largest in the country located in downtown, and a Hampton Inn & Suites located at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Valencia Group is aggressively pursuing growth opportunities for their Valencia products utilizing a targeted business model for expansion. |
