Embassy Suites Recognizes Top Hotels; Patrick Wilson
Named 2004 General Manager of the Year

MEMPHIS, Tenn.- April 6, 2005 -- Embassy Suites Hotels recognized its top hotels during an awards ceremony at the brand's annual General Manager and Directors of Sales conference, held in Charleston, SC, April 3-6. More than 45 awards were presented to hotels chosen from the brand's portfolio of more than 175 hotels throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America. Each honored hotel received a trophy, monetary prize and individual recognition during the conference.

"Each of our hotels and their team members work extremely hard to deliver the ultimate in guest satisfaction for which the Embassy brand is known," said David Greydanus, senior vice president, brand management, Embassy Suites Hotels. "Everything they do - from providing a hot, cooked to order breakfast each morning to a comfortable bed for travelers each night, and highly valued services in between that enable guests to be more productive - helps ensure guest loyalty. We are pleased to honor the Embassy Suites Hotels that epitomize what our brand is all about - guest satisfaction and a high level of customer service."

The Connie Awards, named in honor of company founder Conrad Hilton, are awarded based on three key components, including: 

  1. quality assurance audits measuring cleanliness, condition and brand standards; 
  2. customer scores rating staff service; and 
  3. customer service scores rating the quality of the hotel's physical accommodations. 
The top five hotels to receive Connie Awards included:
  • Embassy Suites Hotel - Hot Springs, Ark.
  • Embassy Suites Hotel - Rogers/Bentonville, Ark.
  • Embassy Suites Hotel - Portland-Downtown, Ore.
  • Embassy Suites Hotel - Dallas-DFW International Airport at Outdoor World, Texas
  • Embassy Suites Hotel - Nashville-South/Cool Springs, Tenn.
The Hervey Feldman Award, named in honor of one of the pioneers of the Embassy Suites brand and the brand's first president, recognizes the Embassy Suites General Manager of Year. The 2004 honor went to Patrick Wilson, general manager of Embassy Suites Hotel - Greenville Golf Resort and Conference Center, SC.

Diane Ciehoski, director of sales at the Embassy Suites Hotel - Austin-Arboretum, Texas, and the hotel's sales team were awarded the Director of Sales of the Year/Sales Team of the Year Award. The award is given to individuals and their sales team who demonstrate leadership, accountability, business sense and creativity in the area of sales for their hotel.

Special conference recognition went to the Embassy Suites Hotel - Hot Springs, Ark. In addition to being recognized with the Connie Award as the top hotel of 2004, it was also recognized as having the highest Satisfaction and Loyalty Tracking Scores in five categories including: food and beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, complimentary breakfast and service.
