the Caribbean for Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts |
.
April 20, 2005 -- Juergen Stutz has been appointed Senior Director
of Sales for the Caribbean for Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts, announced
Emanuel Schreibmaier, senior vice president of sales in The Americas for
Sol Meliá Hotels & Resorts.
Stütz will be responsible for implementing the sales strategies for Paradisus Puerto Rico, Paradisus Punta Cana, Meliá Caribe Tropical, Meliá Santo Domingo and the soon-to-open luxury resort Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana. Also, in conjunction with the Brand Management and Corporate Marketing teams, he will also develop marketing strategies, including advertising, promotions and public relations for these properties. We are extremely excited about having Jüergen oversee the marketing and sales in the Caribbean, said Schreibmaier. The solid experience and success he brings from Germany combined with an already successful market should continue to solidify Sol Meliás position as a leader in the Caribbean. He already has a strong familiarity with Paradisus Resorts, given that in 1995 he helped launch the companys first Paradisus property, the Paradisus Punta Cana, by overseeing a promotional campaign throughout Latin America and Europe. Prior to his appointment, Stütz served as managing director of Sol Meliá in Germany where he was responsible for the operations, sales and marketing and finances of 12 properties as well as new hotel developments in the market. From 2003 to 2004, Stütz doubled the Gross Operating Profits of Sol Meliá in Germany. It is an honor that Sol Meliá appointed me to oversee business efforts for these resorts, knowing that the companys most prestigious properties are located in the Caribbean, Stütz said. Prior to joining Sol Meliá, Stütz was the director of sales for Lindner Hotels & Resorts, where he oversaw the sales department of 19 hotels and resorts with a total of 3,500 rooms in Germany and Switzerland. He was also the vice president of sales & marketing from 1998-2000 for LTI-International Hotels in Germany, overseeing 31 resorts worldwide. Stütz, who is married and has two children, speaks five languages fluently and graduated from the Tourism School of Spain in 1982. Sol Meliá Hotels & Resorts is one of the worlds most successful hotel companies, managing five distinctive brands - Meliá Hotels, Tryp Hotels, Sol Hotels, Paradisus Resorts and Hard Rock Hotel - totaling more than 350 hotels in 30 countries. |
