 Three of Grand Hyatt New York’s Managers
Nominated for Hyatt Top Honors



NEW YORK (March 2005) – Hyatt award nominations for 2004 have been released.  The Grand Hyatt New York is thrilled to have three stellar employees nominated for top honors. James Dale has been nominated for Director of Catering of the Year, Theresa Rayos del Sol for I.T. Sales Manager of the Year, and Wan Yi Tang for Convention Services Manager of the Year.

Nominee, James Dale, is directly responsible for 5 catering managers,and an annual food, beverage, and room rental revenue of $32 million. Dale has built a very distinguished career within the hospitality industry acquiring his first position at the Grand Hyatt NY as a coffee shop greeter in 1986. He has held the position of Director of Catering for the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, Connecticut and his current position at the Grand Hyatt New York for the past 6 years. He has received the Catering Team of the Year Award for 1999 and numerous Golden Key Awards.

Nominee, Theresa Rayos del Sol, is a new addition to Hyatt Grand Hyatt New York, but has worked in the hospitality industry for the past 9 years. She was hired as an Associate Director of Sales in June 2004 to revitalize the Domestic and International market for transient.  She presently oversees two sales managers that are focused on increasing International Sales.  Her commitment to the Grand Hyatt Hotel is only surpassed by her commitment to her family. She states, “ They are the reason for who I am and why I aspire to be more.”

Nominee, Wan Yi Tang, is a veteran at the Grand Hyatt New York with 10 years of experience under her belt in various different departments. She has subsequently found a home in Convention Services. An extraordinary performer, Wan Yi continues to excel and has built upon her varied experience within the hotel. She assisted in the opening of the Hyatt Regency Jersey City property and also won the Manager of the Year Award for 1999.
