be Re-branded Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise

SINGAPORE, (March 22, 2005) - Raptis Group (ASX: RPG) today announced the appointment of InterContinental Hotels Group to take over management of ANA Hotel Gold Coast.  Effective from 29th March 2005, the hotel will be re-branded Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise, joining more than 80 Holiday Inn hotels and resorts across Asia Pacific and becoming the Group’s second hotel in Australia’s leading leisure destination.

Raptis Group Chairman and Managing Director, Jim Raptis said: “We looked at a number of proposals before appointing InterContinental Hotels Group. We believe that they are well positioned to retain the high standards of the hotel.”

Mr Raptis said that with the property’s ideal location in a key position to the city of Surfers Paradise, its acquisition was a medium to long term investment for the company.

Added InterContinental Hotels Group Managing Director Asia Pacific, A. Patrick Imbardelli: “We are delighted to be joining Jim Raptis and the Raptis Group to reintroduce the Holiday Inn brand to Surfer’s Paradise through this management contract. We are committed to working with The Raptis Group to make this a brand-defining Holiday Inn hotel catering to both leisure and meeting guests in this choice location.

“Holiday Inn has a global distribution of more than 1,500 hotels, including over 80 hotels across 20 countries in Asia Pacific, which will contribute to creating a high profile for Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise in the Gold Coast’s key source markets. Our extensive global marketing and reservations systems and our 24 million member-strong Priority Club Rewards worldwide loyalty programme will also introduce new leisure customers to the hotel.”

The 22-storey hotel will become one of the largest Holiday Inn hotels in the Asia Pacific region with 404 rooms including 18 suites. Its international appeal will serve to increase Holiday Inn’s reputation as a business and leisure brand, as it continues to rapidly expand across the Asia Pacific region.

Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise is located 50 metres from the magnificent Surfers Paradise beach and in the heart of the shopping and entertainment precinct. It offers two restaurants, three bars, two floors of conference, convention and banquet facilities and extensive recreation facilities including two tennis courts, three swimming pools and a health club incorporating gym, massage and beauty treatments.

Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise is an hour’s drive from Brisbane international and domestic terminals, half an hour from Coolangatta Airport and within easy access to the Gold Coast's major attractions and theme parks. Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise will be the perfect place for Priority Club Rewards members to redeem their points for a relaxing vacation or short break.
