The Waterford Group and Partners Reopen the
392-Room Hilton Hartford Following
a $33 million Transformation

.

HARTFORD, Conn., March 1, 2005 - 315 Trumbull Street Associates, LLC, announced today the official reopening of the Hilton Hartford following a $33 million transformation into a modern, upscale hotel, the likes of which have not been available in Hartford in years.  The hotel's reopening is seen as another vital step in the ongoing $2 billion revitalization of Hartford.

315 Trumbull Street Associates, LLC, welcomed a distinguished crowd of dignitaries, including Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez, for the official ribbon cutting ceremony.

"Today is a great day for the city of Hartford," said Mayor Perez.  "The reopening of the new Hilton Hartford is a major milestone in Hartford's revitalization as 'New England's Rising Star.'  It means 215 jobs -- 122 of which are returning employees.  Their staff will provide top level services to the visitors to our wonderful city, who are now able to choose a full service luxury hotel for their accommodations."

Len Wolman, chairman and CEO of the Waterford Group, added, "The Hilton Hartford transformation provides a superior lodging option for travelers, while returning the hustle and bustle of a downtown gathering place to that section of the city.  The transformation also supports Hartford's revitalization plan to redefine the city as a convention, group, business travel, and leisure travel destination as well as a social gathering place."

The transformation of the Hilton Hartford was executed by several organizations, including contractor Wolman Construction, management company Waterford Hotel Group, interior designer The Gettys Group, architect William Tabler & Associates, mechanical engineer Southport Engineering Associates, and food and beverage consultant cb5 Restaurant Group.

"This team worked day in and day out over the past year to transform this neglected property into the full service luxury hotel that Hartford had been missing, setting the stage for other full service hotels to follow," said Wolman, whose Waterford Group is also developing the 409-room Marriott Hartford Downtown.  "Their collective commitment to the project, and to Hartford's revitalization, is reflected in the superior quality of this hotel and all it has to offer travelers to Hartford."

What formerly was a hotel described by some as outdated and stagnant, is now a state-of-the-art, luxury hotel with all the benefits and convenience of a downtown location that will attract both business, convention and leisure travelers.  The hotel now features 392 guestrooms and suites, high-speed Internet access, movies and video-games on demand, as well as a coffee maker, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, and two-line phones with private voicemail.

The Hilton Hartford also features a remodeled living room-style lobby featuring a full fireplace; wireless Internet access in all public spaces; Element 315 lounge; a lobby coffee bar featuring Starbucks coffee; indoor swimming pool; a state-of-the-art fitness center; and Morty & Ming's, a unique full-service combination restaurant featuring a New York-style delicatessen and an old school Chinese restaurant.

For meeting planners, the property boasts approximately 15,000 square feet of innovative, high-speed Internet-equipped meeting and banquet space with simple meeting and catering planning services, as well as a concierge level offering hors d'oeuvres and continental breakfast Monday through Thursday.

For those visiting the city for events or engagements at the Hartford Civic Center, the Hilton Hartford is the only city hotel to offer a skywalk to the Civic Center, providing easy access to sporting events, concerts and other special events.

"Hartford is being redefined as the perfect destination for travelers looking for an alternative to surrounding big cities such as New York and Boston," says Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez.  "Not only does the city feature world-class theater, historical sites and entertainment, it now also offers world class accommodations in the Hilton Hartford."
