Andrew Silber Named Director of Training at
The North Maple Inn at Basking Ridge

BASKING RIDGE, NEW JERSEY, March 2005 - The North Maple Inn at Basking Ridge has announced the appointment of Andrew Silber as director of training for the 171-guestroom, AAA Four Diamond hotel.  Michael J. Taylor, general manager, made the announcement. 

Mr. Silber brings extensive experience in diversity awareness and training as well as group facilitation to his new role.  He was most recently program manager for The National Conference for Community and Justice, with offices in New Brunswick, New Jersey.  In this role he designed, managed and facilitated customized diversity leadership programs.  Additionally, Silber consulted with school districts statewide, as well as New Jersey businesses, social service agencies, community and religious organizations to fight bias, prejudice and racism and to develop an appreciation of diversity.  He was an active force behind the Humanitarian Awards for Middlesex, Monmouth, Hudson and Bergen Counties.

Previous to this, Silber was employed by the Piscataway Board of Education as a teacher in the Piscataway School District.  Prior to this he was a senior faculty member and performance management consultant for Lucent Technologies, Learning and Performance Center.  He began his professional career at AT&T in labor relations, corporate education & training, business management education, and law & government affairs.

Andrew Silber is the past president of the Hispanic Association of AT&T and Lucent Technologies (HISPA), and the past vice president of human resources for The Hispanic Association of AT&T.  He is the recipient of the national HISPA Role Model Award and has received numerous Achievement and Outstanding Member Awards from HISPA NJ. 

Silber received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics & Behavioral Science from Rutgers University.  He is a Certified Hotel Manager from the New York Hotel & Motel School and earned his Master of Arts degree in Psychology and Behavioral Science from Kean University.  He and his domestic partner reside in Edison, New Jersey.
