OHANA Hotels & Resorts Completes $5 million Upgrade
to the 440 room OHANA East Hotel, in Waikiki

.

HONOLULU, OAHU, HAWAII - February 4, 2005 - OHANA Hotels & Resorts has completed a $5 million upgrade to the 440 room OHANA East Hotel, located at 150 Kaiulani Avenue in Waikiki. The top-to-bottom refurbishment included all guest rooms and suites, corridors, the hotel lobby, fitness room, pool and pool deck.

Guest rooms and suites have all received new carpeting in warm earth tones.
Romantic anthurium patterned bedspreads bring back the feel of "Old Hawaii." The drapery colors are drawn from the bedspreads with palm trees woven into the sheers. Chaise lounges or sofa sleepers are featured in many rooms.

Furnishings have been refinished in tones of white with pale yellow walls brightening the room and providing a comfortable and calm oasis after a long flight or day of sight-seeing. Sparkling granite countertops have been installed in all guest baths and each room has its own mini refrigerator to store snacks and cold drinks. New 25-inch televisions have been added to each room offering expanded cable service. Island art decorate the walls in hall corridors and guest rooms; and a carved hibiscus blossom adorns each guest room door, offering an island welcome as guests enter their rooms.
New carpeting has been installed throughout the lobby and along guest floor corridor and is reminiscent of Hawaiian tapa cloth with its block design of leaves, waves and sails. The hotel pool and Jacuzzi have been completely retiled, and vibrant yellow hibiscus blossoms now decorates the bottom of the pool. The pool deck also has been resurfaced, and new pool deck furniture is being enjoyed by guests.

"The OHANA East Hotel has been a long time favorite with visitors and local residents," said hotel manager Ray Kanemori, "so it's a real pleasure to be able to welcome our guests to a newly refurbished hotel."

In addition to the new décor, guests staying at this full service hotel enjoy OHANA Hotels' special brand of island hospitality and a variety of services and amenities. Ninety percent of guest rooms at the OHANA East are non-smoking. There are three restaurants, a coffee bar, a 24-hour self-service business center, 24-hour self-service laundry and a video arcade to enjoy. The hotel also offers three moderately sized meeting rooms.

Centrally located at the corner of Kuhio and Kaiulani Avenues, the hotel is just a short stroll to Waikiki Beach, the International Marketplace and Kalakaua Avenue. The Honolulu Zoo, Kapiolani Park and the Honolulu Aquarium are just a 20-minute walk away. Because of its location and amenities, the OHANA East Hotel is popular with families and business travelers alike.

The OHANA East Hotel is one of 11 OHANA hotels in Waikiki.
