 Michael Krouse Joins Interstate Hotels & Resorts
as VP, Sales & Marketing, West Coast

ARLINGTON, Va., October 19, 2004 � Interstate Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: IHR), the nation�s largest independent hotel management company, today announced that Michael Krouse, has joined the company as vice president, sales and marketing, West Coast.  

In the position, he will oversee all sales and marketing activities for a diverse portfolio of the company�s managed hotel properties, ranging from the Renaissance Ilikai in Hawaii to a number of Hilton hotels in Arizona and California.  

Prior to joining Interstate he was director of sales and marketing at the landmark, 683-room Millennium Biltmore hotel in Los Angeles.  He spent the previous 10 years with Hilton Hotels Corporation, rising through the ranks to marketing and sales positions of increasing scope and responsibility at a range of Hilton properties, culminating in his being named regional director responsible for 22 properties.

�Michael�s combination of property-level, regional and corporate sales and marketing experience make him the ideal choice for this position,� said Sean Worker, Interstate senior vice president, sales.  �As a 15-year hospitality marketing veteran, Michael has achieved an impressive record of success and will add significant depth to our sales and marketing team.�

Krouse is a Certified Hospitality Marketing Executive (CHME) and a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), and a member of a number of professional hospitality organizations, including the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, the Anaheim/Orange County Area Visitor and Convention Bureau, Meeting Planners International, the International Society of Meeting Planners, the Society of Government Meeting Planners, the National Tour Association, the American Society of Association Executives and the Professional Convention Management Association.
