| October, 2004 - Jeffrey Mayers was recently appointed general manager
for Riverview Plaza Hotel, according to Steve Solberg, chief operating
officer for PCH Hotels & Resorts.
The Riverview Plaza is a 377-room luxury hotel in downtown Mobile, which was purchased this past summer by Retirement Systems of Alabama. The new general manager was most recently employed by Interstate Hotel Corporation at The Westin Poinsett Hotel in Greenville, South Carolina. He has also served Interstate Hotel Corporation as Director of Operations at Renaissance WorldGate Hotel in Kissimmee, Florida; Rooms Director for Don CeSar Beach Resort and Spa in St. Petersburg, Florida; and Rooms Director for Marriott�s Casa Marina Resort in Key West, Florida. He is a member of the Greenville Hospitality Association, a member of the Board of Directors for the Greenville Convention and Visitors Bureau and a member of the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Hotel Motel Association. Mayers is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in governmental affairs and political science. PCH Hotels & Resorts manages fine hotels along the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail throughout the state of Alabama. In addition to the Riverview Plaza, these hotels include: Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club, and Spa in Point Clear, Alabama; The Legends at Capitol Hill in Prattville, Alabama; The Lodge and Conference Center at Grand National in Opelika, Alabama; Ross Bridge Resort and Spa on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Hoover, Alabama (opening May 2005); The Shoals Hotel, Conference Center and Spa on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Florence, Alabama (opening April 2005); and The Battle House Hotel in Mobile, Alabama (re-opening 2006).
