 Hampton® Opens Nine Hotels in August and
September 2004, Representing 923 New Rooms

MEMPHIS, Tenn., October 4, 2004�Hampton, the national brand of more than 1,270 mid-priced Hampton Inn® and Hampton Inn & Suites® hotels, announced the opening of nine Hampton hotels in August and September 2004, representing 923 new rooms. The nine new openings include three Hampton Inn hotels and six Hampton Inn & Suites hotels. All new hotels are franchised new builds with the exception of two conversions. 

"In the past two months, we have once again seen growth of the Hampton product West of the Mississippi. We now have more than 80 properties open in Texas alone and will continue our focus on development further west in 2005," said Phil Cordell, senior vice-president, Hampton brand management. "The brand has passed its half-year milestone for Make it Hampton implementation and each of these new properties open with our new "Make it Hampton" standards including: complimentary High-speed Internet access, complimentary hot breakfast, and our new lobby décor as well as our new guest room and bath amenities."
