of Marketing for Cendant's Hospitality Services Division
.
PARSIPPANY, N.J. (Nov. 16, 2004) Cendant Corporation today announced the promotion of Jean Thomas to corporate senior vice president of marketing for its Hospitality Services Division.

Thomas, who formerly served Cendants Hotel Group as senior vice president, brand strategy, will be responsible for developing a Hospitality Services Division marketing strategy and identifying and optimizing channel, consumer and media synergies between the divisions business units.

She also will serve as the point person for top-tier alliance marketing relationships and programs, provide marketing coordination between the business units and corporate information technology teams for divisionwide initiatives and coordinate division efforts with Cendants Travel Link team, which promotes intercompany travel synergies.

Thomas will report to Steve Holmes, corporate vice chairman and division chairman and chief executive officer.  The Hospitality Services Division encompasses Cendants eight hotel brands; its Vacation Ownership Group, with brands including Fairfield Resorts?, TrendWest® and RCI; and its Vacation Rental Group, with brands including Welcome Holidays and Novasol.

In her previous role, Thomas led the development of marketing and operating plans for the Hotel Group and its eight lodging brands, led the repositioning of each brand and directed the consumer research process that helped establish a new quality assurance program.

Recent company acquisitions, the success of the TripRewards loyalty program and the development of new products and marketing channels have enhanced the opportunity to build long-term value, drive organic growth and generate cash flow by tapping synergies among different Cendant business units, Holmes said.  Jeans background and experience make her ideally suited to identify those opportunities and build bridges between operating groups necessary to capitalize on those synergies.

Prior to joining Cendant in August 2002, she was a vice president of marketing for Kraft Foods in Parsippany, N.J.  During her tenure from 1987 to 2002 she served in a variety of marketing positions and helped direct the integration of the Kraft and Nabisco food-service marketing organizations.  Prior to Kraft, she held marketing positions at PepsiCo Inc., Carnation Company and Harshe-Rotman and Druck Public Relations.

Thomas earned her bachelors degree from Oregon State University and her masters in business administration from the UCLA Graduate School of Management.

With approximately 90,000 employees, New York City-based Cendant Corporation (NYSE:CD) is primarily a provider of travel and residential real estate services to businesses and consumers in more than 100 countries.  Cendants Hotel Group, based in Parsippany, N.J., is the worlds largest lodging franchisor with 6,331 hotels representing 507,603 rooms on five continents under the Super 8®, Days Inn®, Ramada®, Travelodge®, Howard Johnson®, Knights Inn®, Wingate Inn® and AmeriHost Inn® brands.
