|November 5, 2004 - The successful launch of
Park Plaza Hotels Europe’s franchise offer in July last year has already
resulted in several signed agreements and an unprecedented level of enquiries,
establishing a need for their development team to grow.
This month sees the introduction of Justin Lanzkron, who joins the company’s development team as Development Manager. Justin has a keen development background having worked with hospitality sector real estate specialist consultants HVS International, as Senior Associate in the consultancy team and Analyst prior to that.
Justin completed a Hotel Management degree at Middlesex University, London in 1998 and since then has worked with HVS conducting numerous valuations, feasibility studies, market studies and consulting assignments in the UK, Europe and Asia.
With over a dozen franchising negotiations underway and in the pipeline for the future, re-structuring and expanding the development team has been inevitable. Only a few months ago, Park Plaza Hotels Europe announced it had granted a sub master franchise to Oak Hospitality, a Swedish based company who plan to expand the Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts brand across Scandinavia through both management and franchise agreements. Justin’s remit will be to support these forthcoming new franchise hotels as well as aggressively targeting more 4-star deluxe hotel companies to join the Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts brand.
Justin’s appointment also seemingly coincides with the opening of Park Plaza Belfast, located at Belfast International Airport. Park Plaza Belfast is Park Plaza Hotels Europe’s first hotel to open in Northern Ireland, following its signed territorial licence agreement with the Fitzwilliam Hotel Group in March 2004. Park Plaza Belfast will join the Park Plaza network of hotels this month and takes the company’s current UK portfolio to 5 hotels, with another 3 confirmed hotels opening in the UK early 2005.
