ARLINGTON, Va - Dec. 1, 2004 - Interstate Hotels & Resorts (NYSE:
IHR), the nation's largest independent hotel management company, today
announced that Sean Worker has been promoted to executive vice president,
international operations and development, Continental Europe, effective
January 1, 2005. In this newly created position, he will be responsible
for managing the company's international operations and sourcing business
development opportunities. He will report to Hank Ciaffone, president of
international operations and development, and will be based in London.
"International expansion is an important component of our corporate growth plan, and Sean's experience adds significant depth to our international management capabilities," said Steve Jorns, chief executive officer. Previously, Worker was senior vice president, sales, at Interstate and directed the sales efforts for the company's entire portfolio of managed hotels, which includes independent and branded properties in the United States, Canada, Russia and Portugal. Worker joined Interstate in 2001. During his 20-year hospitality career, he also held operations and sales positions with Maxxim Hotels & Resorts, Bristol Hotels & Resorts and Marriott Hotels. Prior to immigrating to the United States, Worker trained and held management positions at hotels in Germany, England and Ireland.
