The official ribbon cutting ceremony took place after opening speeches, followed  by a reception  and  tours of  the new hotel.  An outstanding performance by The Philander Smith College Choir made for an unforgettable event.

David  Shamoian,  President  of  the  Peabody Hotel Group, Brand Management Division, stated;  "This renovation demonstrates the continuing commitment of  the  Peabody  Hotel Group to the city of Little Rock, its citizens and visitors.  In addition, the renovation displays our commitment to providing travelers  with  superior  quality  accommodations and services, synonymous with  both  the  Peabody  Hotel Group and Hilton brand names". The Peabody Hotel  Group  also  owns  and operates the Peabody Hotel in downtown Little Rock. Shamoian  continued;  "As the only upscale, full-service hotel in the  midtown area of Little Rock, the Hilton will add significant upscale facilities,  which will boost Little  Rock's ability to attract future conventions and business".

The Hilton Little Rock Metro Center, located at 925 South University Avenue in Little Rock, closed in January 2003 to undergo a dramatic $19 million renovation. Now featuring an upscale new facade, dramatic entrance and sweeping staircase, the Hilton offers a relaxing oasis-style courtyard, with an outdoor dining patio, as well as a new restaurant, bar and extensive meeting facilities.  In each of its guestrooms, the hotel has incorporated stylish new furniture to include the luxurious 350 thread count "Bed by Hilton" and spacious work centers with ergonomic chairs. Soft furnishings combine rich colors and luxurious textures for an upscale, contemporary feel.

The  new  Hilton  provides  guests  with  a full complement of services and amenities,  including  wireless  high-speed internet technology, a business center,  a  full service restaurant with private dining room, lobby bar and an outdoor swimming pool. The  hotel's  12,000  sq.ft  of  meeting space, including a delightful and spacious  grand  ballroom, have benefited greatly from the transformations.

In  addition  to the new Hilton Little Rock Metro Center, The Peabody Hotel Group owns and operates 9 hotels, specifically six franchise properties and three  under the proprietary Peabody name, in Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, Massachusetts and South Carolina.
