Area Tourism Council, Invited to Speak to the Poland Travel Industry |

Area Tourism Council has been invited to speak to Warsaw, Poland to the
Hotel Industry in Poland and the new Warsaw Destination Alliance, an organization
that comprises of hotels, airlines and businesses who depend on the tourism
industry.
�Marco was the right choice to speak about tourism partnerships and the importance of tourism in economic development,� explained Alex Kloszewski, the alliance�s chairman and the general manager for a new Intercontinental hotel in Warsaw. �He is a marketer who knows the value of this industry and has worked with airlines, hotels and attractions and has conceived marketing and advertising campaigns to promote destinations,� Kloszewski added. The Warsaw Destination Alliance is very similar to a CVB and plans and promotes the advertising for a destination. This year, they created a European campaign called �Let�s Warsaw Together� which run in BBC and CNN International. �Marco has cultivated many partnerships promoting tourism in San Antonio as well as in Texas. He brings a wealth of profound experience in advertising, media, communications and development and will help us tell the story to our government.� Barros will be speaking to the Poland travel industry on October 8 & 9 in Warsaw during their annual conference. Warsaw is targeting tourists from all areas of Europe and Russia and the Alliance is lobbying the government to help build a multi use conference center for meetings under 8,000 delegates. Kloszewski outlines they are currently putting together several programs for the short stay traveler, including major shopping galleries with the idea of putting a shopping product that caters to the weekend business with the discount airlines. Barros currently serves in the Airport Advisory Board, the Tourism Committee of the Office of the Governor�s Economic Development and Tourism, Greater Chamber�s Economic Development Council Steering Committee and the Mays YMCA Board. |
